Nike Air Max 97ĭesigned by Christian Tresser, the Air Max 97 was inspired by the high-speed Japanese Bullet train with its smooth look and feel. The first Air Max sneaker to utilise two Air units, the 95 also had a unique curvature which gave the wearer the most responsive feel to do. Sergio based the 95 on the human anatomy, with the midsole being the spine, the layered side panels being muscle fibres, and the laces being the ribs. When the 90s reached their midway point, Sergio Lozano decided to switch up the shoe game. Known as the Air Max III until 2000, the kicks design exaggerates the thickness of the heel, giving you a bold and chunky look! Proudly displaying the Air Unit to the heel, over the past 25 years sneak has grown into a street icon. Nike specially designed a pair of Nike Air Max 90s for President George H.W. The upper featured Duromesh, synthetic felt and synthetic leather. The original colorway of white/black/cool grey with infrared was chosen to exaggerate the thickness of the sole air cushion. This model is Known as the Air Max III until 2000, when it was reissued taking its name from the year of its launch.
